Dirk was born in Storm Lake, Iowa in 1955.  John Thomas (Tom) and Nancy Lou (Giles) Snyder, and his brother, Rory had moved to 316 Otsego Street after Tom finished Law School: This photo of childhood home from a trip there in 1989.
